Coalport is set in the scenic beauty of the Severn Valley Coalport Station is one of England's most romantic secrets and offers Shropshire Railway Themed Holidays and Luxury Self Catering. Up until 1963 Coalport Station was served by the line running from Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth. Further downriver some of that line remains in use as home to the Severn Valley Steam Railway. The station however is now a home, and host to two fabulous carriages offering quite exceptional accommodation.
This fabulous spot is nestled in the dip of the historic Ironbridge Gorge, only yards from the river. It is surrounded by trees and away from any hustle and bustle. Just one and five minutes' walk away are warm and welcoming pubs, with gardens by the river, serving meals and traditional ales all day every day. This unique "retired" station, which no longer sees trains passing, sits to one side of re-laid track and two self catering carriage which now offer a luxury self catering with a difference.
The self-catering accommodation comprises of two Mk1 railway carriages furnished with the ultimate in modern fittings.
