The village is renowned for its excellent restaurants, tea shops, old fashioned public houses, superb local bakers and general stores. Corfe Castle is in the heart of the isle of Purbeck with wonderful walks to the Jurassic coastline and along the beautiful downs. The sandy beach of the small resort of Swanage is within a 10 minute drive. Alternatively the steam train, which runs from Corfe Castle to Swanage, offers a delightful way to travel. This beautiful stone cottage is situated in the heart of the picturesque and historic village of Corfe Castle. St Edmund’s is within a few minutes walk of the dramatic castle and the central square of the village with its charming church, local bakers, general stores, National Trust shop, public houses, restaurants and tea shops. This is a wonderful walking area and visitors can walk directly from the house to join a network of footpaths which extend westwards towards Kimmeridge and Lulworth or Eastwards to Studland. The renowned Jurassic coastline with its treasure trove of fossils and dramatic scenery is nearby. The small resort and sandy beach of Swanage is within a 10 minute drive and Studland beach with its miles of sandy beaches and unspoilt dunes is only 6 miles away.
