Tots Travel Bag Award Winners

The Salty Dog Camber Sands, East Sussex


The Salty Dog has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Tots Travel Bag Award for its incredible provision for babies and small children. Everything has been thought of here, from the usual to well thought out additions such as black out blinds, bed guards and night lights. There’s a playroom specifically for younger children, who also get a special welcome from Daisy Dog their resident soft toy, who writes to the children before their stay. This is a holiday cottage which will delight children and parents alike.

Dog Friendly Award Winners

Rock Lobster At Camber Sands, East Sussex


Rock Lobster has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Dog Friendly Award. Everything has been thought of to provide a truly memorable experience for guests and their dogs. Dogs are sent an information pack after booking, with information on all the dog friendly places to visit in the area. On arrival there’s a dog welcome gift plus extra’s such as dog bowls and poo bags. There’s an enclosed garden and even an outdoor pet shower.

Woodfarm Barns, Suffolk


All seven cottages at Woodfarm Barns have won the Unique Holiday Cottages Dog Friendly Award. Here they don’t just accept dogs they openly welcome them! Everything has been considered to ensure your holiday is a truly memorable experience for you and your dog. All barns have fully enclosed gardens, they provide an extensive list of commonly forgotten items such as bowls, poo bags and dog treats. There is even a specific website containing a wealth of information on where to take your dog in the local area.

Eco Escape Award Winner

Toms Eco Lodges, Isle of Wight


Tom’s Eco Lodges have won the Unique Holiday Cottages Eco Escape award for their innovative approach to promoting sustainability. They are constantly striving for reduced environmental impact and do this through recycling, green energy and water conservation. Guests here love the space whilst being kind to the environment.

The Chestnuts, The Cotswolds


The Chestnuts has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Eco Escape Award for their incredible approach and commitment to providing a Green holiday home. Here they employ a full range of initiatives including 100% green electricity, energy and water efficient fittings, operating as a Carbon Neutral Business and a wealth of information to engage and encourage guests to be environmentally considerate.

Unique Retreat Award Winner 

The Smithy & The Count House, Cornwall


The Smithy & The Count House have won the Unique Holiday Cottages Unique Retreat Award. Built in the 1840s on the old Okel Tor Mine in Cornwall these buildings are steeped in history. What was once the Mine Captain's Office and Blacksmith’s Workshop, these buildings are now beautiful holiday cottages that are Scheduled Ancient Monuments in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Books are available for guests to read about the history and after recent funding there are also interpretation boards explaining all about the ruins and mines. It’s an incredible place to stay. Peace and tranquillity within walking distance of a lovely village.

The Devon Manor House, Devon


The Devon Manor House has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Group Getaway Award. Sleeping 16, this Grade 1 Listed property is set within 160 acres of gorgeous countryside. It’s the perfect destination for a large group of friends or family, offering two kitchens, a swimming pool, pool room, tennis courts and flexible spaces to entertain. A great set up offering both opulent formal rooms and more child friendly relaxed space.

Portland House c1870 has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Group Getaway Award for being an incredible place to stay with a group of friends or family. Here everyone is treated like a VIP. You can enjoy drinks in the games bar room, have your own music playing throughout the house and enjoy a range of add on activities such as a in-house chef, English afternoon tea party, crafting, country pursuits, pampering or a even murder mystery dinner. A beautiful house combining a sense of history with full-on contemporary comforts!

Child Friendly Award Winner

Elton Old Hall, Derbyshire


Elton Old Hall has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Child Friendly Award for being an incredible place to stay with children. Everything has been thought of to make this special for the children who stay here, from standard items such as cots and night lights to more exciting additions such as personally selected age appropriate toys, a secret garden with castle themed play house, slide, trampoline, a treasure trail around the village, personalised welcome and room layouts. The focus here is on making children feel at home and happy, after all when the children are content parents can relax.

Culls Cottage has won the Unique Holiday Cottages Child Friendly Award. They go above and beyond here to make this cottage a special place for families.
